01The challenge
Students need more than a searchable directory when choosing a mentor: they need relevant profiles, confidence in expertise, straightforward booking and a visible way to track progress. Mentors need an equally clear experience for receiving requests, managing availability and supporting multiple students without losing context.
02Our approach
We designed the product around two connected roles. Students can create profiles, discover and compare mentors, send connection requests, book appointments and work towards defined goals. Mentors can sign in to review requests, manage schedules, monitor student progress and keep each mentoring relationship organised.
03Delivery
The mobile application was built with Ionic for a consistent cross-platform experience. A Laravel backend manages users, mentor profiles, appointments, goals, permissions, payments and platform monetisation, with the infrastructure deployed on AWS. Firebase powers timely app notifications for requests, booking activity and ongoing engagement.
04The result
Mentor.me turns a fragmented mentoring journey into one connected platform. Students gain a clearer route to trusted guidance and measurable progress, while mentors have the scheduling, request-management and commercial tools needed to deliver their expertise sustainably.
